PATRON
At the Bowls Nelson Board meeting held on Monday the 8th September it was agreed unanimously that the board would put forward Elaine Hemi as the proposed new Patron of Bowls Nelson for all clubs to consider. Elaine felt very proud to be asked to follow on as Patron immediately after her good friend Allan Griffiths.As per the Centre constitution approval of the clubs is required at a Special General Meeting. The board propose to hold this meeting immediately prior to the next delegates meeting in November. A final date for this will be supplied in due course.

Rep Selectors and Managers
At last nights Bowls Nelson centre board meeting the Bowls Nelson representative selection panels were all confirmed. The senior men’s joint selector/managers will be Peter Hodson and Gary Watson and the development men’s will be Marty Hammond selector, and Abe van Wyk as the manager. For the ladies, the senior selector will be Dave Edwards with Nicky Reed as manager and development is Alan Smaill Selector with Helen Guiney as manager. We wish them every success for the season
Prize money approval
The board of Bowls Nelson at their latest meeting approved the allocation of further prize money. For the first time the winners of all Bowls Nelson Champion of Champion events will receive $200 per player to be used to assist teams/players attend the NZ finals of these events. Please note this will only be paid to those that decide to attend the NZ finals. Also, the winning teams of the men’s and
women’s NBS Interclub 7’s event will win $2000 each, once again to assist with travel costs to attend the NZ final of this event. This is certainly great news for all those that participate in these events
